    Tether Together!

Recently AquaJogger® attended the International Aquatic Fitness Conference (IAFC) and our friend Teresa Triche, AEA certified Master Instructor, unveiled a great workout called "Tether Together" using the AquaHitch™.

Triche says that the AquaHitch™ is useful for:
  • Creating fun and something new
  • Challenging your partner
  • Adding resistance and intensity
  • Working out in limited pool space

To begin: attach one end of the AquaHitch™ to your buoyancy belt as shown, then attach the other end to your partners belt. Now you are ready for the workout.

Triche recommends doing each exercise below for 30-60 second intervals. "Be sure not to compromise form for speed," says Triche. One mistake that people make while pulling their partner is leaning too far forward, but you can avoid this by focusing on proper form.

While tethered together and facing opposite directions do the following exercises for 30-60 seconds each:
    1. Jogging
Remember to keep your posture vertical instead of leaning forward. Keep the hitch tight between you as you try to tow your partner.
    2. Fast Running
Increase your speed and feel the resistance as the hitch becomes taught in-between you and your partner.
    3. Tire legs with breast stroke arms
This is your chance to really challenge your partner to who can pull the hardest.
    4. Bicycling
Pretend like you are racing in the Tour de France and you are neck and neck with your partner. Who will be first to cross the finish line?
    5. Drag 'em
One person jogs with breast stroke arms while the other floats behind kicking. Travel all the way across the pool. Switch roles once you have reached the pool's edge.
If you need further instruction on any of these exercises, please visit our online water workout guide.
