"Fluid Flex" Exercises to Melt Away Arthritis Pains
According to the Arthritis Foundation, "Water exercise is a gentle way to exercise joints and muscles. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of warm water make it a safe, ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness."
This month's certified guest instructor, Carla Jarvis Johnson, leads us through 4 exercises from her new "Fluid Flex, Stretch, and Energize Workout" designed to ease the pains of Arthritis, Tendonitis, and stiffness. Be sure to see more of her workout at www.WaterWellnessWorkouts.com.

The following exercises can be performed in deep or shallow water:

    Warm-Up
    Straight Leg Soldier March
March forward raising alternate fully extended legs. Swing your arms in long sweeping movements in opposition to your legs. Keep your wrists, elbows and knees soft. Swing your arms in long sweeping movements in opposition to your legs. Continue marching for one to two minutes.
Variation: Bend your knee before lowering leg.

    General Workout
    Samurai Leg Lift Front

Place your right foot back below, "sit", pause, and stand back up lifting your left leg up in the front. Continue alternating right and left leg lift.
Variation: Draw circles with the foot.
