"Fluid Flex" Exercises to Melt Away Arthritis Pains
According to the Arthritis Foundation, "Water exercise is a gentle way to exercise joints and muscles.
The soothing warmth and buoyancy of warm water make it a safe, ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness."

"Fluid Flex, Stretch, and Energize Workout" designed to ease the pains of Arthritis, Tendonitis, and stiffness. Be sure to see more of

The following exercises can be performed in deep or shallow water:

Straight Leg Soldier March
March forward raising alternate fully extended legs. Swing your arms in long sweeping
movements in opposition to your legs. Keep your wrists, elbows and knees soft. Swing your arms in long sweeping movements in
opposition to your legs. Continue marching for one to two minutes.
Variation: Bend your knee before lowering leg.

Samurai Leg Lift Front
Position your feet a bit wider than your shoulders. Keep your heels flat as you bend your
knees and "sit" in the water. Pause, and "stand" back up lifting your right
leg up in the front. Place your right foot back below, "sit", pause, and stand back up lifting
your left leg up in the front. Continue alternating right and left leg lift.
Variation: Draw circles with the foot.

Side Step Arms Sway
Step to your left with your left foot and allow your arms to slowly sway to your left. Touch your
right foot briefly next to your left foot. Step to your right with your right foot and allow your
arms to slowly sway to your right. Touch your left foot briefly next to you right foot. Place your
heels down with each step. Pause at the end of each sway.
Variation: Swing one arm at a time.

March Forward
March forward lifting alternating knees as high as comfortable. Swing your arms in long
sweeping movements in opposition to your legs. Keep your wrists and elbows soft. If exercising in shallow water, your feet
should land on the pool floor heel, ball of foot, and toes.
Variation: March Backward.
